Today we played our inaugural game as the StKilda City Sharks. Three clubs came together and formed one Team which is an achievement in itself, although the result did not go our way I can honestly say we were the Winners in so many ways. The girls displayed great maturity to not give up when things didn’t go our way early, they showed what can be achieved when you persevere against the odds. They chased and tackled East Malvern persistently and improved as the match continued to the point of dramatically reducing the oppositions ability to score. They should all be proud of their efforts both individually and as a team, everybody did exactly what I asked them to do and more.
As a coach I am very proud of the girls and I am very confident about the season ahead of us.
A special mention must go to Imogen for being the first girl to kick a goal for the StKilda City Sharks and also to Caely for her ability to tackle girls much bigger than herself.
A fantastic effort by the best cheer squad, the St. Kilda Sharks Women!
