Our Division 1 team got our season underway today with a very tough, hard fought win over Cranbourne at Casey Field this afternoon. It was four seasons in one day as sunshine, rain and wind greeted players and spectators alike. We started well taking a 7 point lead into quarter time before Cranbourne hit back kicking 2 goals in the 2nd qtr while holding us scoreless to go into half time 5 points up. They held us scoreless again in the 3rd quarter but fortunately only managed to add 1 behind themselves and we kicked 2.1 in the last to run out 7 point winners. Tamara Hyett led the way with 2 goals and was well supported by Gracie with 1. Scagey was named our best player in a terrific effort with great support from Netty, Sheehy, Tamara, Gracie & Charmaine.
Congratulations to Netty on 50 outstanding games and well done to Kez Pres leading the side to victory in her first game as skipper. A terrific team effort #onthemove

COACHES WRAP UP (MARNIE ROSENBERG)
“The conditions made it very difficult to win the ball cleanly today. It was very wet and the ball became very heavy, spending a lot of time on the deck”
“The Sharks stepped up when it counted – the last quarter, running into the wind”
“Hyett secured 2 goals in her very first game and Gracie Vanderwaal secured the win with the last goal for the match”
“Netti played a true vice captains game in her milestone 50th and Scagey and Sheehy held up the centre half back to ensure the victory”
“It was a brilliant all round effort to steal the game after being a goal down at 3 quarter time”
