In 2005 at the young age of 15, Grace ‘Gracie’ Vanderwaal made her first appearance at a St Kilda Sharks pre season.
With her helmet in her hand and her older sister Alex by her side she quickly became a much loved member of the Sharks family.
Fast forward 13 years and Gracie (now 27) is about to play her 200th game for the Sharks. We haven’t checked the archives, but we doubt many (if any) have reached this impressive milestone as quickly as Gracie has.
In 2006, in just her second season with the club she was part of our 2006 reserves premiership side and in 2014 Gracie became a two time premiership player when the Sharks defeated Melbourne University and broke an eight year premiership drought.
On behalf of the entire St Kilda Sharks family we’d like to congratulate Gracie on this incredible milestone and look forward to celebrating with her this Sunday at the Peanut Farm.
